Portrait and family photographer in Westward Ho! · North Devon, England

I am Tanya Ward. I grew up in Pelym, in the Komi-Permyak region, and have lived in the United Kingdom for more than thirteen years. North Devon is home now, while the people and places of my childhood remain an important part of my life and photography.

ABOUT ME. Tanya Ward | Portrait & Family Photographer in North Devon

About me

I trained as a director and educator, and spent more than twenty years working as a television presenter and journalist. Listening, observing and discovering what makes each person different have always been part of my work. That curiosity now shapes my photography.

My father was a projectionist and a local photographer. As a child, I helped him print photographs, then joined the school photography club. Photography became my profession while I was living in England.

Today I photograph individuals, couples, families and pets. I work with natural light and gentle guidance, allowing time for people to feel comfortable and be themselves.

Beyond the camera

I have three grown-up daughters. I love travelling, the sea, meeting people and swimming in open water throughout the year. These experiences become part of my photographic stories too.
